Cut charging cables

Cables are being cut off rapid chargers for the copper inside them. For a driver that means: you drive there, you plug in, nothing happens. Nobody publishes how often this happens. This page shows what comes in through the report form here.

No reports yet. Either nobody here has come across a station without its cable, or the category is simply too new – it has only existed for a short while.

If you are standing in front of a station with a cut cable: reporting a fault takes a minute. It takes a fair number of reports before a picture emerges – one says nothing, a hundred do.

Incidents only appear here 14 days after they are reported. The reason is below.

What you can do

Why this page is deliberately coarse

A map full of pins would be the obvious way to show this – and a shopping list. Combined with the other details collected here (remote, unlit, rarely used) it could be used to pick the next station to hit. Hence:

On the page of one particular charging station the notice appears immediately and in full. That is not a contradiction: someone opening that one station wants to go there – the restraint applies to the overall picture, not to the individual answer.

How solid is this? These are reports from visitors to this site, not confirmed insurance claims. They say where somebody drove and what they found – not where most of it happens. Where this site is little used, little appears here, even if a cable disappears there every week. The numbers work as a lower bound, not as a statistic.
